Ice Show Eligibility Requirements

To participate in the Marshfield Silver Laces Ice Show:

  • You must be a current member of Marshfield Silver Laces to be eligible to participate in the ice show.
  • You must be in good standing with Marshfield Silver Laces, which is defined as :  all prior ice contracts, ice show fees, LTS fees, and Coaching fees must be paid in full and have no athletic code of conduct violations.
  • Feature level skaters must skate one or more times per week at the Marshfield rink and receive at least ten private lessons during contract ice with a Marshfield Silver Laces coach during the 2017-18  skating season.
  • You must be able to attend all practices and ice show performances – only one practice may be missed and it will need to be reported to the show director and designated coach (es) prior to the absence.
  • Skaters will participate in all numbers designated by the show director/committee.
  • Ice Show Volunteer requirement must be met (see below for details)

Ice Show Feature Criterion

Feature Determination Criterion:

  • Must be a Full club member for 2 years for a Solo
  • Associate member or full club member for a minimum of two years for a feature (spotlight, duet, trio, quartet, quintet)
  • Must be working on FS 2 or above for a feature
  • Eight features and 3 spotlights will be assigned
  • Solos will be determined based on points earned through USFS testing (Freestyle, Dance and MIF). A full breakdown of our points system is available on our "Documents" Page
  • In the event of a tie for solos, a "tiebreaker" will be based on:   
    • Age, years in club, and/or solo may be divided so each skater performs in 2 ice shows
  • Skater must work with a private lesson coach during contract ice throughout the skating season, October thru February
  • Must sign up for a feature by September 20, 2017

What is an ice show Feature Number?

Skaters who meet the above criterion are eligible to sign-up to be in an extra ice show number. Typically, the skater will be assigned to be in a quintet, quartet, trio, duet, spotlight solo or solo. The skater will be required to attend additional practices to learn the number and purchase a costume. In addition, there is a $25 fee for the number in order to cover the ice cost and coaching fee.

Ice Show Volunteer Requirements

In order to make the show go on, all participants' families must commit to two hours of volunteer duties. These hours are in addition to the hours required to be a Club member. There is no volunteer buy-out option for the ice show volunteer requirements. Volunteer opportunities may include:

  • Hanging posters at various local businesses, schools, churches, etc.
  • Selling and collecting ice show tickets
  • Ice show usher
  • Locker room supervisor during the ice show
  • Meal attendant in between ice shows
  • Ice show set-up
  • Ice show tear-down
  • Rink monitor during ice show practices
  • Assisting with ice show picture day
